A recent trip to the dentist revealed that my kid's baby teeth just don't want to come out. Bud is almost 12 years old and he still has 6 baby teeth to lose. Boo is 9 years old and still has a mouth FULL of baby teeth. To date, he's only lost 7 teeth.
The 7th tooth finally fell out the other night. The tooth had been loose for awhile and was very wiggly, but we've learned that this boy has some serious roots on his baby teeth. They don't budge easily.
So he's sitting at the kitchen table doing whatever he possible can to avoid doing his homework and he starts to mess with the loose tooth and it starts to bleed. All of this is unbeknownst to me because I had gone upstairs to gather some laundry. I come back down to find him sitting on the bathroom counter in the middle of murder scene. He had blood running down his face, his arm, it was on the counter, the WALL, and all over the sink! Blood was everywhere! How is it possible that one little baby tooth would cause so much blood?!?
The tooth was finally extracted from his mouth. The bleeding stop. The mess was cleaned up. And the funniest part? He never once inquired about payment from the tooth fairy. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. My babies are growing up too fast.
